Latest Batch

I was reading my latest batch of comics from the past couple of weeks, and thinking about which one I remember the best. Many times I find myself robotically reading a comic, and ten minutes later I could hardly tell you what it was about. Some of that, I'm sure, is me. (getting old? 44 soon....)
I think part of it, of course, is simply the story. If it didn't grab you, then it's mostly just another story to get bagged and put in the box.
The comic that was most memorable to me these last couple of weeks was Action #847. The funniest thing is that it's a "filler" issue, probably to give Johns/Donner/Kubert time to catch up. "Intermezzo" is a flashback story, told by Pa Kent, about a time Clark took him into space. Maybe it's the father/son thing that did it for me, but I found it to be an excellent issue. Great writing and nice artwork.
How funny, also, that I have never been a big Supes fan. In fact, when I was a kid, I can't ever remember buying a Superman book. I was all Marvel back then, and looking back, I think I was right. But this isn't your dad's Superman any more.
